Citrus County
History
On the Gulf Coast in the
Tampa Bay Region of
Florida,
Citrus County was formed in 1887 from
Hernando County. Its county seat,
Inverness, is on
US-41 about 50 miles north of Tampa and 60 miles WNW of Orlando.
Citrus is bordered by the
Gulf of Mexico and the counties of Levy,
Marion, Sumter, and
Hernando.

Obituaries
|
Karen Joy Adams, 50, died
Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Shands at University of Florida in
Gainesville. She was a lifetime resident of the Tri-County area. She was
a homemaker and attended Calvary Temple Assembly of God. She is survived
by two daughters, Kimberly Joy Culpepper
of Old Town and Samantha Nicole Culpepper
of Sneads; one sister, Cheryl Lord of Old Town; and two grandchildren.
Burial was at the New Prospect Cemetery. Rick Gooding Funeral Home,
Cross City, is in charge of arrangements. (Citrus County Chronicle,
