Miller County

County History and Geography

In the Timberlands Region of far southwestern Arkansas, Miller County was formed in 1874 from Lafayette County. Its county seat, Texarkana, is on I-30, about 140 miles southwest of Little Rock. Miller is bounded by the Arkansas counties of Little Bend, Hempstead and Lafayette; the Texas counties of Bowie and Cass; and the Louisiana parish of Caddo.
